Description

Futakuchi-onna (二口女): The Two-Mouthed Women are a type of yokai similar to Rokurokubi (see also Chapter XVIII - Rokurokubi). They are originally human but due to curses, evil deeds or karma of their family, they transform to yokai who have an extra big mouth back of their head. Normally, they appear as normal woman with thin figure and small mouth who eat rarely. Instead of using human's mouth for feeding, they use the monstrous mouth when no one sees. Their hair can also move and find food for the month.

There has a famous folklore about Futakuchi-onna; In a small village far away, there had a stingy merchant who didn't want to marry because he was afraid that he would have to pay money for wife's and children's foods. One day, he met a thin young woman who didn't eat. He was so happy and married her immediately. Not long after she came to live in his house, rice and foods in his rice stores were suspiciously decreasing. So the merchant decided to pretend to leave for work and returned secretly to spy his wife at one of his stores. In shock, he saw the monstrous mouth appeared back of his wife's head and began to use the hairs to grasp rice into that mouth. The merchant ran away from the village and nobody had ever seen him again.

Great work, over all, not only this one. Faces are very expressive. Hair needs a bit more work. Try getting it closer in style to fabric - stylized a bit more. Overly realistic 3D stands out in the way that you don't want - out of style. Thank you for sharing your art
